EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

  • 1991 - 1993 - Conception, planning and coordination of 'Music Technology Week' involving staff and students from many schools. The program included the 'Student Composition Talent Search', workshops and demonstrations of the use of technology in music for commercial and avant-garde styles, staff in-services and concerts with professional musicians and students.
  • 1993 - 1997 - Establishment and production of a weekly, student-based radio program, 'Voices of Eltham College', presented live from the studios at Plenty Valley FM. Awarded Gommie in 1995 for 'Most Popular Educational Program'.
  • 1996 - Initiation and coordination of Eltham College's entry into the International School's Cyberfair. Web site 'Environmental Awareness on the Urban Fringe' gained an international award - 4th place.
  • 1997 - Convenor of the 'Web Page Development Group', a staff and student committee with the aim of improving the school's home page.
  • 1998 - 2000 - Internet Club - extracurricular activity where students participated in international telecommunication projects (such as iEARN Learning Circles) and developed web page authoring skills.
    School Magazine - extracurricular activity using desk-top publishing facilities to produce the "Jungle Beat" school magazine each term.
  • 2000 -2002 - Kuwait representative for iEARN, international collaborative projects and learning circle participation.
  • 2002 - 2003 - Staff Professional Development Representative for Gulf English School.
  • 2003 - 2004 - International School Dhaka Weblogs: Instigation and development of staff and student weblogs. This included running staff induction sessions and developing the student digital portfolio curriculum
    International Schools Cyberfair: Platinum Winning Entry in the Environmental Awareness Category with Poribesh Bachan: Environmental Awareness in Bangladesh, created by Grade 8 students.
